Words of Wisdom by Tim Cook!

On the occasion of Apple’s event today releasing the iPhone 7, let’s appreciate the company’s CEO – Tim Cook. Although many still associate this position with Steve Jobs, Tim is not far behind in terms of being an inspiration to all!

Here are few quotes that will give you some wisdom this Wednesday!

  1. Let your joy be in your journey – not in some distant goal.

Your journey from as startup is what you should appreciate and take pride in! Everyone reaches a goal eventually but not all take in their experiences while they were getting there.

  1. You should be the pebble in the pond that creates the ripple for change.

Be the catalyst that initiates a change. That’s what entrepreneurs do, after all! Reinvent and revolutionize.

  1. You can focus on things that are barriers or you can focus on scaling the wall or redefining the problem.

Startups and obstacles go hand-in-hand. Instead of dwelling over what went wrong and what cannot be done, look what how you can overcome the problem! Whining and complaining gets you nowhere.

  1. In terms of being everything (Steve Jobs) was, I never had that objective. I’ve never had the objective of being like him. Because I knew, the only person I can be is the person I am, right? I’m not an actor.

Don’t try to be something you are not because of others expectations of you! Be your own-self and bring something unique to the table.

  1. Companies that get confused, that think their goal is revenue or stock price or something — you have to focus on the things that lead to those.

As you scale up, it’s important that you don’t lose sight of what got you there in the first place – your customers, your differentiation and your team!

Although Tim Cook was often found in the shadow of Steve Jobs, he has taken the reign of Apple really well. His words of wisdom are relevant to all entrepreneurs out there – startup or not.

The whole world now has their eyes on the much awaited release of the iPhone 7!
